Oddities from the Eighties

A small piece that I started, to see how the oil felt on the linen and isolating images, as opposed to feeling the need to paint the whole canvas...... and what does that do to the narrative.
A simple narrative of a 20pound note and all it got me during the Eighties, albums, books, paints, holidays and of course......alcohol.
The red thread connecting all the memories of the bright, shiny things that were so important back in my teens, back when I was an apprentice carpenter in Dublin, getting two of these a week .....and a five pound travel allowance .....Lordy
