Paul Bokslag is a visual artist and designer from the Netherlands, based in Callan, Co. Kilkenny. He was a co-founder of KCAT Arts Centre and has worked as a Creative Associate for Helium Arts.
Paul works across a range of media, from drawing, painting, printmaking, papercutting, photography and type design to sculpture and site specific installations. His solo exhibitions include ‘Waking Up in Waterford’ with Waterford Healing Arts Trust (2014) and ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ at Garter Lane Arts Centre (2012) and he has taken part in a large number of group shows.
Paul has been on residencies at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre and Cill Rialaig Artist Retreat. He was a recipient of the 2011 ‘Healthway International Arts and Health Fellowship’ with DADAA in Fremantle, Western Australia. He was the artist-in-residence for ‘The Breadwinner’ exhibition at the Butler Gallery in Kilkenny and he collaborated on a number of projects with Workhouse Union.
Paul has completed large scale papercut installations, room filling tape drawings and twine sculptures spanning multiple floors in Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin; National Design and Craft Gallery, Kilkenny; Luan Gallery, Athlone; VISUAL, Carlow and County Hall, Kilkenny. In 2019 Paul was commissioned by the Facebook AIR Program to make a large mural for their new offices in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
