| William Watson was born in 1975 and is a professional painter and Art Educator based in County Kilkenny
William is a graduate National College of Art & Design (NCAD), Dublin
Painting on medium and large scale canvases using acrylic paints, primed with warm tones, he builds up the composition with layers of small brushstrokes. This building up of punctuated colour has the overall aim of producing intense and vibrant tones, dramatically increasing the freshness and temperature of the painting.
After an inaugural solo exhibition at the 2005 Kilkenny Arts Festival, he has gone on to exhibit in many other solo and group shows .
In 2022 one of his large scale landscapes was selected to be shown at the prestigious 192nd Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) Summer Exhibition where it was immediately purchased by a discerning private collector on the opening night
