Collection: Gary Kearney
Born in Tipperary and based in Cork City, Gary graduated from the Crawford College of Art & Design in 2005. His work reflects his interest in architecture, perspective and natural lighting and explores how these change our emotional connection to our city.
His paintings have been exhibited throughout Ireland, including solo shows at the Linenhall Arts Centre, Sirius Arts Centre, Iontas Theater and Garter Lane Arts Centre. He has participated in various group shows including the Chimera Gallery in Westmeath, the Lavit Gallery in Cork and the Source Arts Centre in Co. Tipperary to name a few.
Gary has a studio in Backwater Artists Group where he was previously a member from 2010 to 2019.
His work is represented in public collections such as the Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, Cork, The Office of Public Works and Cork City Libraries.
His work has been selected for the most prestigious exhibitions throughout Ireland and Britain, such as the RHA Annual Exhibition in 2018, 2021, 2022 ,2024 and 2025 The RUA Annual Exhibition in the Ulster Museum, Belfast in 2019 and 2023, and 2025
The RWA Annual Exhibition in Bristol, England in 2019 and 2022. The Bath Society of Artists 115th Annual Open Exhibition in England in 2020 and the Royal Scottish Academy 197th Annual Exhibition, Edinburgh, Scotland in 2023.
He was Longlisted for the Jackson’s Painting Prize in 2022 and 2023. He was selected for the first ever Art Riddler Exhibition at Studio 10, Dublin in 2022 and once again in 2023.
